Founded by Carlos Dias in 1995 as SOGEM SA (Société Genevoise des Montres), the company did not lay claim to its current title of Manufacture until 1999 “when I deemed that the term Manufacture was deserved and not usurped”, as Mr. Dias explains.

In March 2001, he established the first building of the Manufacture ROGER DUBUIS in the Meyrin industrial area just outside the city of Geneva. This facility was to enable him to undertake the process of verticalisation for the production of the brand’s movements.

Strongly attached to the quintessence of the Swiss watchmaking culture, Carlos Dias does not merely create movements in harmony with the noblest time-honoured traditions. He also submits the entire brand production to the stringent demands of the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark. Today, each of the movements made in the Manufacture ROGER DUBUIS workshops carries this token of superlative quality.

Moreover, driven by a concern to diversify the brand offering, Carlos Dias has developed a highly exclusive jewellery concept. Just as with his watches, Carlos Dias’ style as expressed in jewellery is distinguished by an aesthetic sense that is resolutely avant-garde, original, sensual and provocative. Shunning conformism and focusing on daringly glamorous designs, he dedicates his creative competence to women and offers them unique adornments representing heart-felt tributes.

Inaugurated in April 2002, this first building features timeless architecture based on glass and metal expressing a pure, modern design concept. Two years later, work began on a second building to extend the production units of the Manufacture and which naturally served to increase brand visibility.

Since achieving complete independence in 2003, the Manufacture ROGER DUBUIS conceives, develops and produces not only its simple, complicated and extremely complicated movements, but also the regulating organs with which they are equipped. The balance-springs and balances, as indeed all other movement parts, are produced in-house.
